Banal is right
No doubt you’re tired. Like most whites, that is, having been cushioned by white skin privilege from constant degrading interactions, I have to stretch to imagine what it’s like to endure the pervasive banality of white denial and then the freak outbreaks of white fragility, too.
At least it’s all coming out now, yes? The conversation about the subtler aspects of white superiority is more open, more real — the bar set higher than ever. We have more labels for calling dehumanizing behaviors what they are: white fragility is seen and therefore being perceived (and called out) by more people.
